There is a special place in Southern Louisiana that is a Gem for our State, a treasure that gives more than it receives. It's history is a combination of politics, generations of families, a community feeling, environmentalism, business, industry, and a passion to do the right thing. Business and Industry works with locals and people who live off the land and with environmentalist that are saving our coastline and preserving natural habitats. Port Fourchon may not come to mind, but it is just that place. And The Greater Lafourche Port Commission, that manages it, is an organization that brings all of this together with only 42 employees. And those employees are responsible for the creation of over 11,000 jobs in Louisiana. It is the story you will hear in this interview with Chet Chiasson, executive director of The Greater Lafourche Port Commission. And there is a lot of interesting information in it that will not disappoint.
